What is MedIndex? 

MedIndex is a searchable up-to-date online index to all clinical review articles and guidelines published since 2003 in the following peer-reviewed resources:

• Australian Drug Reactions Bulletin (ADR Bulletin)
• Australian Family Physician  (AFP)
• Australian Prescriber  (Aust Presc)
• The National Prescribing Service (NPS News)
• The Medical Journal of Australia (including clinical updates, MJA essentials, position statements & case discussions)

In addition, practical guidelines from the following national resources have been indexed:

• Australasian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA)
• Caring for Australians with Renal Impairment  (CARI)
• The Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA)
• The National Heart Foundation (NHF)
• National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC)
• The Thoracic Society of Australia & New Zealand (TSANZ)

MedIndex is a practical index organised by clinical topic (keyword). It is manually indexed to optimise article relevance.

How often is it updated?     As the articles become available

The online version of MedIndex is updated monthly as the journals are published. The print version is updated annually to include December.

How much does it cost?    Less than $4 per month

• a one-year subscription to MedIndex online is $44.95 (including GST)
• the 2006 print version is $29.95 (including GST & postage to anywhere in Australia)

Is there a discount for students?    Yes

Students get access to MedIndex online for $19.95 per year  - less than half the usual price. To be eligible for student rates - please use your student email, and provide your student number and institution in your profile. Student status is reviewed annually.
